Chris 10 min presentation¶
Sonic Visualiser¶
- Development started late 2006, maintained ever since
- General-purpose tool to inspect (but not edit) audio, and edit labels and annotations
- Analysis plugins (Vamp plugin format)
- See sonicvisualiser.org
Tony¶
- Started in 2013
- Dedicated tool for sung-pitch annotation and note segmentation
- Uses Matthias Mauch's pYIN pitch-tracking plugin
- Informed by the work needed in Bittner, Salamon, Tierney, Mauch, Cannam, & Bello, MedleyDB: A Multitrack Dataset for Annotation-Intensive MIR Research and Mauch, Frieler, & Dixon Intonation in unaccompanied singing: Accuracy, drift, and a model of reference pitch memory
- (Despite relatively good results with Tony, all manual annotation was still dropped from MedleyDB 2.0 as too labour-intensive)
- See Tony project page
Sonic Lineup¶
- In "experimental mode" since 2007 - has had three different names - first test release last Friday, still unannounced!
- Tool for comparative visualisation of multiple related recordings at once
- No editing or annotation capabilities - no "document" or "session"
- Feedback wanted!
- See this project page (currently)
