h3. Sonic Visualiser

* Development started late 2006, maintained ever since
* General-purpose tool to inspect (but not edit) audio, and edit labels and annotations
* Analysis plugins ("Vamp plugin format":https://vamp-plugins.org)
* See "sonicvisualiser.org":https://sonicvisualiser.org

h3. Tony

* Started in 2013
* Dedicated tool for sung-pitch annotation and note segmentation
* Uses Matthias Mauch's "pYIN":/projects/pyin pitch-tracking plugin
* Informed by the work needed in Bittner, Salamon, Tierney, Mauch, Cannam, & Bello, _MedleyDB: A Multitrack Dataset for Annotation-Intensive MIR Research_ and Mauch, Frieler, & Dixon _Intonation in unaccompanied singing: Accuracy, drift, and a model of reference pitch memory_
* (Despite relatively good results with Tony, all manual annotation was still dropped from MedleyDB 2.0 as too labour-intensive)
* See "Tony project page":/projects/tony

h3. Sonic Lineup

* In "experimental mode" since 2007 - has had three different names - first test release last Friday, still unannounced!
* Tool for comparative visualisation of multiple related recordings at once
* No editing or annotation capabilities - no "document" or "session"
* Feedback wanted!
* See "this project page":/projects/vect (currently)
