Description
Maybe a nice alternative to the site search, addressing #333 to some extent would be to add a Google custom search box.

58410c63bb84 (branch feature_334) experimentally adds a Google custom search field to the search view and attempts to style the results to fit in.
It works well -- except when Google decide to serve some ads along with it. The ads are ghastly. Remember when Google used to provide text-only ads so as not to make their results pages look as hideous as the ones with banner ads that we'd been getting used to in other sites?

... so anyway, unless we're going to pay USD100/year for Google Site Search (same thing but without ads) I suggest we give it a miss. We don't want to be serving ads if we can help it from this site anyway. Downgrading priority.
