site search needs to search more stuff

Description
I just used the Search on the live site to try to find implementations of the Matthew Davies beat tracker.
I searched for "Davies" and got 5 results: a wiki page and two changeset tags for one project; the project overview text for a second project; and a commit log entry for a third.
The third project turned out to be the one I was looking for, so in this case the result was just about OK, but if I didn't know better I would have been very surprised that neither the publications by Matthew, nor Matthew's own user page, came up in the search.
It would also have been lovely if the code repositories were searched, but I imagine that's a much tricker proposition.

sigh not as simple as it looks, I find -- the search facility is tailored (somewhere) to things that "have a project".
