Currently the button appears even if the project does not have the bibliography module enabled.

The reason I assigned it back to you is to give you feedback! I mentioned a problem in my earlier comment -- the link appears even if the project has no bibliography module enabled. That can't be right, can it? There don't seem to have been any new commits pushed since I wrote that one.
