Author name showing up as "No Name" for user's first publication

Description
I logged in as a user, navigated to one of my projects, and asked to add a publication. I then clicked on "Add another author" and then "Add Me as Author", and the author Name field was filled in with "No Name". (My user certainly has a name!)
When I tried this for a second publication, the name was filled in correctly -- suggesting that perhaps the author name was only missing the time the author needed creating, and once it had been created the name could be picked up correctly?
