Description
This is inspired by something a colleague said about a feature of Cornell's "Raven" software:
It would be really helpful for understanding the spectrogram, if you could select a time-frequency rectangle, and play only that region. In other words, delimited in frequency as well as in time. Ah, imagine selecting a stack of rectangular regions and playing them all to see if they sounded like a single harmonic sound or not. Etc etc.
SV's current "Select" tool only selects temporal regions. The "Measure" tool selects time-frequency regions. I've no idea if it would make sense to build such a feature on top of the Measure tool or not...
