Failed to open existing repository when using open "File Folder"

Description
If you try to open an existing repo using the open "File Folder" option, it says
Open existing repository? You asked to initialise a new repository at "/tmp/x". This folder already contains a repository. Would you like to open it?
but when clicking OK, the command fails:
abort: repository /tmp/x already exists!
