If you try to open an existing repo using the open "File Folder" option, it says
<pre>
Open existing repository?
You asked to initialise a new repository at "/tmp/x".
This folder already contains a repository. Would you like to open it?
</pre>
but when clicking OK, the command fails:
<pre>
abort: repository /tmp/x already exists!
</pre>
