avoid impenetrable 406 error when someone uses wrong url in Hg

Description
If someone erroneously pastes the URL from the location bar (i.e. the SoundSoftware project page URL) into EasyMercurial and tries to clone it, they get a very incomprehensible 406 Not Acceptable error.
Is it possible to make a route check for the Mercurial client attempting to download a page intended for humans, and reject it with some more useful response?
