Description
So instead you should see 'Please use full width of the scale (25% to 75%)', if the minimum upper position is 75% and maximum lower position is 25%.

Would have thought that would open the door to people just dragging the highest and lowest rankings into those ranges rather than indicating they need to do more work?

That's a good point. Perhaps it would be better to say something along the lines of 'Please use a larger portion of the scale' or something along those lines, as 'full width' seems to me like I'm expected to put one sample at 0% and one at 100% - which leads to the same problem you describe, i.e. someone might just drag their lowest and highest sample there and not do anything else.
It would be good to have a place to discuss this type of 'policy' issues, which is not a black and white bug fixing situation.
To know whether people tried to submit prematurely, perhaps an 'unsuccessful submit' event could be logged as well?
On another note, when you have multiple scales, it should be clear which of the scale has this option, see Issue #1486.
