Unfortunately, plugins that are 64-bit only cannot be loaded into 32-bit hosts, such as the commonly distributed versions of all current Vamp hosts. OS/X does support building for more than one architecture at once (storing the results in a fat file or "universal binary"), and that is the approach we take in this tutorial. If we were to build for only a single architecture, i386 would currently be the more useful choice. |
