Help for this site

This is a code-repository and project management site for software development carried out in the UK academic audio and music research field. Run by the Sustainable Software in Audio and Music Research initiative, it is intended to provide a useful facility for researchers who are making software in the course of their work, and for anyone who wishes to make use of such software in the future.

This site manages many software projects run by different people. One project here is particularly distinctive, however -- the Sound Software Code Site project is used to manage the development and running of the site itself. This documentation you are reading now is part of that project.

Using this service

This server uses the Redmine project management system. Documentation for Redmine is available in the Redmine Guide.

Code repositories in this system are managed using the Mercurial distributed version control system. An introductory tutorial about Mercurial can be found at hginit.com, and a number of usage tips at hgtip.com.
