h1. Polina Proutskova
I started this group as a reading group/research lab while I was a post doc at the Centre 4 Digital Music at Queen Mary University of London. I am now a senior research scientist at the BBC, though I am still actively involved in academic research on automatic singing voice analysis (currently trying to figure out how we segment vocal utterances in different cultures into notes). I am interested in studying the singing voice from all the different perspectives: MIR, ethnomusicology, singing voice science, music perception, cultural evolution. I am also a performing singer focussing on Russian traditional polyphony, and a singing teacher.
If you have any questions about the group, would like to present, or just chat about singing and your research, email me: *proutskova p*routskova at gmail dot com*
