5 | 1 | Chris Cannam | EasyMercurial is designed to be simple to teach and to learn, using a history graph representation and straightforward activity workflow, and is consistent across platforms. The intention is not to provide the best tool for experienced users or large projects, but to provide something accessible for beginners in small project groups. |

7 | 1 | Chris Cannam | EasyMercurial is inspired by the practical difficulties of gaining experience with version control systems for researchers who make software, but whose fields of study are not directly connected with software development. These are intelligent users for whom version control should be an essential tool but who can perceive it as a complex irrelevance. The application is being developed by Chris Cannam for SoundSoftware.ac.uk, based on the HgExplorer application by Jari Korhonen, and is published under the GPL. |
