h1. SWC Audio Day Software - Ubuntu Installation

* Copied from Lion instructions... updating as progresses

h3. Installation under Ubuntu 12.04

<pre>sudo apt-get install readline</pre>

Unable to locate package readline

<pre>sudo apt-get install sqlite</pre>

Installed libsqlite0 and sqlite

<pre>sudo apt-get install libgdbm3 </pre>

libgdm3 is alrady the newest version

<pre>sudo apt-get install pkg-config</pre>

pkg-config is alrady the newest version

<pre>sudo apt-get install python</pre>

python is alrady the newest version

h5. Testing (in python)

Gives the python command prompt

<pre>

Python 2.7.3 (default, Aug 1 2012, 05:16:07)

h3. Installation under OSX 10.7 (Lion) 

(add this to ~/.bash_profile)

@export PATH=/usr/local/share/python:$PATH@

cd /System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions

sudo rm Current

ln -s /usr/local/Cellar/python/2.7.2/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/Current

source ~/.bash_profile (or reload terminal)

easy_install pip

h4. Numpy

pip install numpy

</pre>

h5. Testing (in python)

import numpy

print numpy.__version__

print numpy.__file__

quit()

</pre>

You should get numpy version 1.6.2 and a file starting with a path @/usr/local/Cellar/python/2.7.3/...@

h4. Scipy

brew install gfortran

pip install scipy

h5. Testing (in python)

You should get scipy version 0.10.1 and a file starting with a path @/usr/local/Cellar/python/2.7.3/...@

h4. Matplotlib

(couldn't get matplotlib installed using pip; had to download and manually install it  instead)

cd matplotlib

python setup.py build

python setup.py install

h4. Audiolab
