samer@0 18 This electronic edition of Bach's six Brandenburg Concertos has been
samer@0 19 produced by the Center for Computer Assisted Research in the Humanities.
samer@0 20 The accompanying files were prepared from the Bach-Gesellschaft edition
samer@0 21 of 1871, edited by Wilhelm Rust, and published in Leipzig.
samer@0 22
samer@0 23 Machine transcription, proof reading, and proof listening was done by
samer@0 24 Frances Bennion, Edmund Correia, Jr., and Steven Rasmussen, under the
samer@0 25 supervision of Dr. Eleanor Selfridge-Field. Translation to the Humdrum
samer@0 26 **kern format was carried out by Dr. David Huron. Music entry and
samer@0 27 editing was done using the "Tenx" facilities designed and implemented
samer@0 28 by Dr. Walter Hewlett. This electronic edition is also available in the
samer@0 29 MIDI format. (See below for ordering information.)

samer@0 74 CHECKSUMS:
samer@0 75 ==========
samer@0 76
samer@0 77 A "checksum" value is an error-checking mechanism that may assist
samer@0 78 in determining whether a file has been modified or data garbled
samer@0 79 due to transmission or faulty storage. The "checksum A" value
samer@0 80 uses the POSIX.2 checksum algorithm. The "checksum B" value uses
samer@0 81 the CCITT cyclic redundancy check algorithm. Note that checksum
samer@0 82 commands differ from system to system. The above checksums were
samer@0 83 calculated for DOS-format data.
