When each melody starts playing, a cross will appear in the centre m@5: of the screen. You should focus on this cross while listening to the m@7: melody.

m@5: m@5:

Whilst listening to each melody, you will be prompted to judge how m@7: expected or unexpected you find a given note. Shortly before these m@5: notes, the cross will be replaced by a clock with a minute hand at 12 m@7: O'Clock. The hand will count down in time with the music. Pay m@7: attention to the note that coincides with the hand returning to m@7: 12. You should judge how expected or unexpected this note is, given m@7: what has gone before. Please use a scale of 1 (highly unexpected) to 7 m@7: (highly expected), making sure to use the full range. Respond using m@7: number keys 1 to 7 on the keyboard.

The music will continue to play, so try to respond as quickly as m@5: possible, however accuracy is more vital than speed. There is only one m@7: chance to make your decision, once selected it cannot be changed.

m@5: m@5:

After listening to each melody, you will be required to answer some m@5: short questions relating to the music before listening to the next m@5: piece.
